Submissions to Springfield City Group relating to the development applications for Peninsula Precinct and Scenic Precinct closed on 9 January 2026.

The public submission period for the Springview 2 & 3, being developed by Cherish Enterprises (and Stockland), has closed 12 March 2026.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made a submission and spread the word. We received more than 850 submissions (that we could account for) in relation to Springview Village 2 & 3. That is an extraordinary show of community spirit and we are deeply grateful.

Below are some examples of the submissions that were sent.

Although the submissions to the EPBC are closed for the above, we continue to encourage you to write to Minister Murray Watt. To help you, on our ACTION page there is a form that once completed will automatically send your letter to the Minister.

Frequently Asked Questions

This information has been provided by the Department of Environment:

This is an assessment where the proponent manages the public comments process during the draft publication phase of an assessment. This is standard process as per Section 95A (3) of the EPBC Act (available here).

Public comments are required to be provided to the Department in full once the public comment period has ended.

Any public comments received are required to be addressed by the proponent before a decision on whether or not to approve the action can be made.

Comments are not published for privacy reasons, however the final Preliminary Documentation, inclusive of any amendments resulting from public comments as well as summary of any public comments received will be published for information only.

Once the final Preliminary Documentation is published and all required administrative requirements have been met (e.g. submission of documents, payment of fees etc.), the Minister will have 40 Business Days to make a decision on whether or not to approve the development.

At this stage two developments impacting the forest fall into this category:

  • Peninsula Precinct 2020/8629
  • Scenic Precinct 2020/8651
